The Board is a registered employer with the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. The Board uses the Agency for Health Care Administration's (AHCA) for all background screenings, including all fingerprint requirements. Screenings are conducted in accordance with F.S.435.12 and F.S. 1012.32.

Sumter District Schools has partnered with ESS to offer a dynamic substitute teacher program that combines flexibility and comprehensive support. As an experienced leader in K-12 staffing, ESS manages the recruitment, hiring, training, and placement of substitute professionals. With a user-friendly online system, you can choose assignments that fit your schedule, allowing you to decide when, where, and how often you want to work. Whether you're new to substituting or have years of experience, ESS provides the training and resources you need to step into the classroom with confidence and make a positive impact on students' lives.
