The Sumter County School Board will meet on May 12, 2026, at 5:30 PM for the regular Board Meeting and at the end of the meeting for closed session, if needed. The meeting will take place at Wildwood Intermediate School, 200 Cleveland Ave, Wildwood, FL.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS SCHOOL BOARD OF SUMTER COUNTY, FLORIDA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Florida Statutes §§ 1006.28 and 1006.40, the School Board of Sumter County, Florida, will consider the adoption of recommended Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructional materials for use in district schools.

At the Regular School Board Meeting on April 21, 2026, the School Board will consider an agenda item to advertise and set the date, time, and place of a public hearing to receive public input on the recommended instructional materials. The proposed public hearing will be held on May 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., at the Sumter County School Board, located at 2680 West County Road 476, Bushnell, Florida 33513, contingent upon approval of the recommended selections by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE).

In accordance with Florida law, all proposed instructional materials are available for public review beginning April 9, 2026, through June 26, 2026. Members of the public may review the materials online using the access information provided below.

The instructional materials may be reviewed online. Public access usernames and passwords are available during the review period.

Members of the public are encouraged to review the instructional materials and provide input at the public hearing. Written comments may also be submitted in accordance with School Board policy and procedures.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), persons needing special accommodations or auxiliary aids to participate in this meeting should contact the Sumter County School Board at least forty‑eight (48) hours prior to the meeting date.

This notice is provided in compliance with Florida law and Florida Department of Education instructional materials requirements.

Proposed Changes to the Code of Student Conduct (2026-2027)

The Sumter County School Board hereby provides notice of proposed revisions to the Code of Student Conduct for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This document outlines the expectations for student behavior, safety protocols, and the disciplinary framework designed to maintain an orderly learning environment.

Public Review Period

In accordance with legal requirements, the proposed draft is available for public viewing for a minimum of 28 days prior to the scheduled board action. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the attached draft, which highlights all proposed updates and modifications in red.
