Water Safety
Whether you're heading to the beach, pool, or lake, always supervise children around water. Enroll them in swimming lessons if possible, and make sure they understand basic water safety rules. Life jackets are a must for boating and other water activities.
Sun Protection
Protect your child’s skin from harmful UV rays by applying sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Reapply every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating. Don’t forget hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing for extra coverage.
Outdoor Play and Bike Safety
Encourage outdoor play, but make sure kids wear helmets when biking, skateboarding, or rollerblading. Teach them to stay on sidewalks or bike paths and to be aware of traffic.
Stay Hydrated
With rising temperatures, it’s easy to get dehydrated. Make sure your child drinks plenty of water throughout the day, especially during physical activity.
Prevent Bug Bites
Use insect repellent when spending time outdoors, especially in wooded or grassy areas. Check for ticks after hikes or playing in tall grass.
Online and Social Media Safety
Summer often means more screen time. Talk to your child about safe internet use, monitor their online activity, and encourage a healthy balance between screen time and outdoor play.
Personal Safety and Boundaries
Summer camps, sleepovers, and new social settings can bring new experiences. Teach your child about personal boundaries, how to recognize unsafe situations, and how to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
