Gift of Play: Applications Open for the Jingle Build-Off Playhouse Program

This special holiday initiative provides custom playhouses to families across Lake and Sumter Counties.

🎁 Opportunity: Apply for a Custom Playhouse from Habitat for Humanity's Jingle Build-Off!

We're excited to share a wonderful holiday opportunity from Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter, Florida!

They are currently seeking families to receive a custom-built playhouse this holiday season through their Jingle Build-Off program. This community event brings local businesses and partners together to build unique playhouses for families in Lake and Sumter Counties who might not otherwise be able to afford a gift like this.

Who Can Apply?

Habitat for Humanity is looking for families with children 11 years old and under for whom purchasing a playhouse would be a financial hardship.

Key Family Commitments (If Selected)

If your family is selected, you must agree to the following:

Have your child(ren) attend the Playhouse Presentation (anticipated to be December 5th or 6th—date and location are subject to change).

You and your child(ren) will meet the team responsible for building your playhouse at the presentation.

It is your responsibility to arrange the pick-up and transportation of the playhouse from the display site to your home.

The playhouse is large and heavy (4' wide x 5' long x 6' high) and is made of heavy wood.

It will take at least two strong individuals to load and unload it, but it can be easily transported on a standard truck bed. Habitat for Humanity does not disassemble the playhouses for pick-up.

How to Apply

The application asks for information about your family, your children's ages and interests, why a playhouse would be meaningful, and details about any necessary accessibility modifications.

Paper Application: Fill out the attached application and return it via email.
